Dive into seaweed with food, films, art, science & vendors at this FREE, all-ages expo presented during Maine Seaweed Week and sponsored by the World Wildlife Fund!

It’s your chance to get up close and personal with all things Maine seaweed. Please join us for a day of fun April 20th at the Gulf of Maine Research Institute on Portland’s working waterfront.

HIGHLIGHTS:
💠Films: The Maine Outdoor Film Festival will host screenings throughout the day featuring stories about seaweed aquaculture and nature.
💠Species ID workshops: Learn seaweed science with the University of Maine’s Maine Sea Grant program.
💠Seaweed-inspired art: Local artists will exhibit their seaweed-inspired paintings, photographs and seaweed pressings.
💠Vendors: Farms and makers will showcase their seaweed products (e.g. kelp smoothie cubes, power bars, dried dulse, tea, bath and body items) to try or buy.
💠Meet seaweed farmers: And check out a line of fresh farmed kelp (don’t forget to take a kelp selfie).
