Explore the Parklets!

Here’s How to Join the Fun:

  1. Visit parklets on your commute, at lunchtime, or anytime between 8am-2:00pm! Each one will have a map of all participating parklets across Portland – wander through unique interactive parklets around the city. Each one offers engaging activities designed to inspire and connect.
  2. Stay Updated: We will share a digital map with parklet locations and photos throughout the day with printed cards for pickup of download. For the latest updates, follow us on Instagram or Facebook @PortlandDowntown and @sustainableportlandme .
  3. Spread the Word and share the fun on social media – post using #parkingday2025

Be a Host!

Event Details:

  • Date: Friday, September 19, 2025
  • Time: Set up your parklet between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. You must be onsite during this period to engage with visitors. Feel free to set up earlier or stay later if you wish.

Guidelines for Your Parklet:

  • Be Creative & Engaging: Design your parklet to be interactive and hands-on. Offer activities, workshops, or a welcoming space where visitors can connect and enjoy.
  • Space Rental: Rent a specific parking space for $35 from the City of Portland via this permit application. If you need more space, apply for additional areas.
  • Identify Your Space: Make sure to select and identify your specific parking space ahead of time. Keep your parklet within these boundaries.

How to Get Involved:

  1. Submit Required Paperwork:
  2. Borrow a cone + No Parking sign from City Hall to place on your chosen parking space overnight, ensuring non one parks in your parklet. Pick up your cone from City Hall & No Parking sign no later than Wednesday, September 17th at 5pm.
  3. Have fun on Park(ing) Day!
