Princess/Superhero Meet & Greet! Snap photos with Ice Queen Elsa, Princess Moana, Captain America, and Spider-Man.
Disney’s Frozen II Watch Party! Join us outdoors—dress for the weather and bring your own chair.
Traditional Ceremony Begins! Enjoy a live dance performance by Portland Ballet, hear from guest speaker Mayor Mark Dion, and experience a special musical performance by Julia Gagnon, Season 22 American Idol Top 7 Finalist.
The Ceremonial Lighting of the Tree! Cheer on a Make-A-Wish Maine child as they “pull the candy cane lever” to illuminate the tree in Monument Square!

2023 Tree Lighting Recap
The 2023 event kicked off with an action-packed afternoon, starting with an outdoor Boston Bruins hockey game featuring Beacon, the mascot for the Maine Mariners! Following the game, families enjoyed an outdoor screening of Disney’s Frozen, with appearances by beloved princess characters. Attendees also snapped photos with the LLBean Bootmobile, savored free samples from Presenting Sponsor Hood Eggnog, admired ice carvings, and delighted in live music and dancing performances. It was a perfect day out for the whole family!
