Qigong Foundations on the Western Promenade

This class is good for beginners as well as intermediate level students who want to sharpen their foundational skills. The Qigong foundations consist of breathing, good posture, fluid movements, gentle awareness, and most of all, relaxation and having fun! Anyone of any physical ability can take this class.
Qigong consists of standing poses and fluid meditative movements that people of all abilities can perform. Through this ancient Chinese healing wisdom, we can sharpen that mind-body awareness, finding our center through breath and good posture. When the mind gets quiet, we can use our senses and the right amount of strength to practice efficiently.
Classes will include Silk Reeling Movements which are foundational to Taiji form. The Silk Reeling Movements are good for core strength, harnessing subtle Qi energy, and finding flow in the movement.
