Join us at the Maine Irish Heritage Center Friday, September 10th, at 6:30pm for the official launch of “Murky Overhead” by Michael C. Connolly. Doors will open at 6:30pm, please plan to use the State St. Door. The evening will feature live music, special guests, and a closer look at Connolly’s debut novel.

Step into a day in the life of an Irish immigrant family, see what makes them laugh, feel what makes them cry. In his novel, author and historian Michael Connolly introduces us to the Folan’s, a family of Irish immigrants scratching out a living in the coastal city of Portland, Maine at the turn of the 20th century. Connolly masterfully introduces Portland’s history and Irish culture through the experiences of his characters and reflects on the struggles of immigrants everywhere.
