Long-time Portland dance staple Vivid Motion Dance collaborates with up-and-coming producer Empty Pocket, bringing the heart of dance to the stage in this special double feature.

We dance to express, to connect, and to feel. To paraphrase Ruth St. Denis; dance is the body speaking a truth that is often too deep for words alone to uncover. Co-directed by Beth Alexander & Jessica Jane Means of Vivid Motion Dance, Portland’s innovative and kinda quirky dance company, HeartSpeak is a collection of new works connected by the theme of how dance heals us.

The White Rabbit’s life of order and routine is suddenly turned into chaos with a familiar realization that “I’m late for work!?!” Follow The White Rabbit into a world of unexpected madness, with crazy encounters and being chased by a curiously annoying young lass as we fall deeper, dancing Down the Rabbit Hole.

This all ages show opens at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 11 at The Hill Arts on Munjoy Hill in Portland ME. Performances will run through Saturday, April 13th. Tickets are on sale now at vividmotiondance.org.
