FALL FOREIGN POLICY FORUM: LEGACY OF US LEADERSHIP IN MIDDLE EAST PEACE
Join The World Affairs Council of Maine for the 2023 Fall Foreign Policy Forum. This year we will be exploring the legacy of 50+ years of U.S. efforts to build lasting peace in the Middle East. We are honored to welcome Ambassador Daniel C. Kurtzer and Ambassador Jake Walles for a candid examination of American leadership of the peace process from the Camp David Accords to the Abraham Accords. Together with Ambassador David D. Pearce, our distinguished guests will assess pivotal milestones, persistent challenges, and tangible outcomes of US diplomacy in the Middle East, including the current administration’s attempts to secure a normalization agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia.
The Forum will be held on October 26, 2023 from 5:30-8:00 PM at the Glickman Family Room, Glickman Library, University of Southern Maine. Doors open at 5:20, with a welcoming reception from 5:30 – 6:15. Opening remarks will begin at 6:30. There will be time for audience questions after the panel discussion. Registration is free and open to the public thanks to the generous support of the William S. Jelin Foundation and the membership of the World Affairs Council of Maine, in partnership with the Muskie School of Public Service.
