DESCRIPTION:Join The World Affairs Council of Maine for the 2023 Fall Fo
 reign Policy Forum. This year we will be exploring the legacy of 50+ yea
 rs of U.S. efforts to build lasting peace in the Middle East. We are hon
 ored to welcome Ambassador Daniel C. Kurtzer and Ambassador Jake Walles 
 for a candid examination of American leadership of the peace process fro
 m the Camp David Accords to the Abraham Accords. Together with Ambassado
 r David D. Pearce\, our distinguished guests will assess pivotal milesto
 nes\, persistent challenges\, and tangible outcomes of US diplomacy in t
 he Middle East\, including the current administration’s attempts to se
 cure a normalization agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia.\n\nThe F
 orum will be held on October 26\, 2023 from 5:30-8:00 PM at the Glickman
  Family Room\, Glickman Library\, University of Southern Maine. Doors op
 en at 5:20\, with a welcoming reception from 5:30 - 6:15. Opening remark
 s will begin at 6:30. There will be time for audience questions after th
 e panel discussion. Registration is free and open to the public thanks t
 o the generous support of the William S. Jelin Foundation and the member
 ship of the World Affairs Council of Maine\, in partnership with the Mus
 kie School of Public Service.
