Enjoy local seaweed-based food and drink specials – from kelp burgers to craft cocktails – at participating restaurants and bars in Portland and across the state, from Friday, April 19, through Sunday, April 28. Let’s celebrate this sustainable superfood that supports Maine’s working waterfront (More than 1 million pounds will be harvested this month alone!)

You’ll also find info on events like cooking workshops, beach ID walks, and “Seaweed Saturday,” a free, all-ages expo featuring seaweed food, films, art, science, and marketplace vendors at the Gulf of Maine Research Institute on Portland’s working waterfront.
