Katie McNally Trio

“Exhilarating musicianship…electrifying…” **** (Songlines)

“Brisk and inventive…taking no prisoners.” **** ( The Scotsman)

The Katie McNally Trio’s new album Now More Than Ever will finally be performed live after a three-year hiatus in the band’s schedule. Based in Portland, ME and Madison WI, McNally’s solo project synthesizes her elegant and powerful fiddle playing with the talents of genre-crossing pianist Neil Pearlman and bluegrass phenom Shauncey Ali on viola. Showcasing original tunes and stretching the trio’s tightly-arranged sound to new heights, Now More Than Ever was recorded in Biggar, Scotland with the guidance of producer Anna Massie (Blazin’ Fiddles).

Ryan McKasson and Colin Cotter

Longtime partners in crime, Ryan McKasson and Colin Cotter find themselves in the thick of a creative collaboration spanning many years, bands, gigs, productions, late nights, tours, missed flights, fiddle camps, adventures, time away, and journeys home. Since the two met over 20 years ago at the Valley of the Moon Scottish Fiddling School (where they are both now faculty members), they have traveled all over the country making music together and sharing that creative spark. When McKasson and Cotter are on stage together, you hear decades of friendship, collaboration, immersion in music, and shared passion for free expression form a foundation from which playful, evocative, unpredictable songs and tunes take flight.
