On average, women and girls in developing countries walk approximately 4 miles a day, carrying 40 pounds of water. In some areas, it is common for this journey to take more than 15 hours a week. Although many steps are being taken, millions remain at the same spot: without clean water.

The last 40 days of this year from November 22 until New Years Eve, endurance athlete Katie Spotz has committed to run 4 miles every day on the treadmill. That equals a total of 250,000 steps!

Why? The goal is to inspire action for 1,779 people in Tanzania to gain access to clean water and raise $6,540 for three clean water projects. We have partnered with H2O for Life to fund a water project at Iwindi Primary School, Idodi Primary School, and Mtitu Primary School in Tanzania.

You are invited to join the challenge! Run 4 miles any day or every day from Monday, November 22nd until Friday, December 31st, on the treadmill or outdoors.
