Doors 7pm – Show 8pm | $10 adv. – $12 day of
Join OLS for an evening of laughs with local comics, hosted by Jim and Nikki Martin, with Emily Ruskowski, Janet McNamara, Mo Awale, Leah Douglass, and Danny Jordan.
Emily Ruskowski is a staple on the Boston stand up scene. She has been featured in the Boston Globe and the Washington Post. She was a finalist in the 2018 Boston Comedy Festival. She has been featured on LaughsTV.
Janet McNamara is a Boston-based comic who’s regaled audiences all over New England with her authentic conversational style and awkwardly charming energy. Janet won the 2014 BeanTown Comedy Riots and has been featured Women in Comedy Festival, Ashville Comedy Festival and Burbank Comedy Festival, and was a finalist in the Boston Comedy Festival. You might recognize Janet as being the ‘Golden Idol’ winner for the the worst audition of American Idol season 10, an appearance that introduced a national audience to her joie de vivre and infectious energy. Janet doesn’t speak french.
Mo Awale is a familiar voice Portland’s comedy scene. Born in Kenya, but raised in Portland,ME – Mo’s struggle to fit in has become his greatest asset in comedy. After being a contestant on Make Me Laugh, Mo started frequenting Empire’s Late Mic and doing spots at Lincolns and Mapz. His comedy drifts between new and old personal stories and his particularly awkward angle on them.
A recent BBC article noted that men are scientifically funnier than women. That is why Leah Douglass is choosing to be linguistically funnier than men. She has been wowing Portland crowds with her wordy wit for 5 years.
Local favorite Danny Jordan brings charm, wit and glamour to the stage. Danny has been a fixture of the Portland comedy scene for 5 years, he delights townies and tourists alike. As a queer comedian, he cultivates a high energy pizzazz unmatched by any other white man with glasses. A finalist in several regional competitions, Danny can be seen in clubs across New England.
Jim and Nikki Martin are Biddeford’s premier comedy power couple. They’ve been producing and hosting shows together for nearly a decade, and very much want to meet your pets.
Covid-19 Protocols:
We are very excited to begin hosting live music shows again in our listening room. OLS is committed to providing a safe environment for all who work, listen, or perform live music in our venue. Proof of vaccine must come directly from the health care provider that performed the vaccination and can be a photo or physical copy of the vaccination card or record with an accompanying photo ID. Full vaccination means that the date of the performance you are attending is:
* at least 14 days after your second dose of an FDA or WHO authorized two dose COVID-19 vaccine, or
* at least 14 days after your single dose of an FDA or WHO authorized single dose COVID vaccine.
We hope we can ease these restrictions once further progress has been made reducing transmission of the virus. Until then we greatly appreciate your patience and cooperation.
