WHAT IS PARK(ING) DAY?
A day when people across the world temporarily repurpose street parking spaces into tiny parks dubbed “parklets.” On Park(ing) Day, parklets are places for art, play, & activism!
WHEN IS PARK(ING) DAY?
The 2023 global event is scheduled for Friday, September 15th. Note: Parklets in the City of Portland will be active this day from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.!
WHERE IS PARK(ING) DAY?
All over the world — & close to home! Several New England cities join the fun, including the City of Portland’s downtown district. Find parklets between these boundaries: High Street – Cumberland Ave – Franklin Street – Commercial Street.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN PARK(ING) DAY?
Tour The Parklets: Everyone! Come on downtown and take a tour of the parklets. Each one will have something unique and fun to offer! Take a tour of them all using our map and punch card for a chance to win a prize! More information coming soon.
Set Up A Parklet: Local businesses & organizations are welcome and encouraged to join the fun. Just fill out a permit (info below) to set up a parklet outside of your business or in another downtown location. Please stay within these boundaries: High Street – Cumberland Ave – Franklin Street – Commercial Street.
