John and Francis Ford Film Festival – 2-Day Symposium

A part of the larger John and Francis Ford Film Festival.

Join this 2-day symposium featuring film screenings and panel discussions with experts on John and Francis Ford. It will also include a keynote by Joseph McBride, author, film historian, and John Ford biographer. Tickets are $49 a piece and provide access to all 2-Day Symposium events.

The symposium includes the following sessions.

DAY 1: SATURDAY, AUGUST 19TH.
-11am: Keynote address by Joseph McBride.
-12pm: Screening of John Ford’s “7 Women.”
-2pm: Panel discussion on John Ford’s later works and their relevance to and meaning in today’s society.
3pm: Screening and discussion of Francis Ford’s “The Craving.”

DAY 2: SUNDAY, AUGUST 20TH.
-12pm: Screening of John Ford’s “My Darling Clementine.”
-2pm: Panel discussion on John Ford’s extensive use of Monument Valley.
-3pm: Screening of “The Taking,” a radical examination of Monument Valley’s representation in cinema and advertising.
