Join us for a conversation, demonstration and reading with children’s book author/illustrator James E. Ransome, who will share insights on his creative process, his career path and inspiration. He is the author/illustrator of many titles including The Bell Rang, New Red Bike, and Gunner,Football Hero among others and the illustrator of several titles written by his wife, Lesa Cline-Ransome including Before She Was Harriet, & Game Changes, the story of Venus & Serena Williams. A Coretta Scott King award winner, Ransome has also illustrated books for Jaqueline Woodson, Carol Boston Wetherford and many more! Lesa Cline-Ransome will join James for a reading of their books. This promises to be a lively and inspiring visit for kids and adults alike.
