Nashville Recording Artists, Breakin’ Strings is a Maine based bluegrass band. They play with a lot of soul and truly break strings in the process. This band was formed back in 2005 and has gone through many changes in that time. Since then, they have become a Nashville Recording Group. recording their first album after 10 years over at Blackbird Studio in TN. The Album is called “Hangovers & Heartaches” available on all streaming platforms. This lineup is better than ever, featuring all kinds of original songs with great harmony and great instrumentation. Cliff Gelina is the leader of Breakin’ Strings and the front man. He has a powerhouse voice that sounds much like the gifted Chris Stapleton. Breakin’ Strings also features Cody Howe, Lead guitar player and vocalist and songwriter as well. He has penned a few tunes with Cliff for the new album coming out. Shawna Bell is the bass player in the band, also a founding member of Breakin’ Strings with Cliff Gelina. She has an incredible voice and is also a very gifted songwriter. She has played music with Cliff, off and on for many years. Steven Peterson is the banjo player, and also another great songwriter and vocalist. He has played with many great bluegrass bands in Maine and New England in general. Breakin’ String’s Newest member derives from Vermont. His name is Sam Acus. a 16 year old mandolin protege. He is an incredible player and also a vocalist as well. He brings a lot of fun energy to the group. A Breakin’ Strings show is a show you don’t want to miss. Full of great original hard driving bluegrass and some amazing covers as well. They play every note they feel, and they feel every note they play.
