DESCRIPTION:Richard Boyd Art Gallery is pleased to announce the opening 
 of the sixth solo exhibition of watercolor paintings by nationally renow
 ned Maine watercolorist Randy Eckard on June 1st at 10:00 a.m.\n\nRaised
  in North Carolina\, Randy Eckard studied at the Ringling School of Art 
 in Sarasota\, Florida and the Haywood School of Craft in Clyde\, North C
 arolina. A trained commercial and fine artist living in Blue Hill\, Main
 e Randy’s career as a fine artist working exclusively with watercolors
  spans more than three decades.\n\nRandy is known for his use of light a
 nd shadow\, with the subject of most of his paintings being light and ho
 w it defines and shapes the scene before him. His realistic traditional 
 style watercolor paintings depict the timeless beauty and charm of Maine
 ’s architecture and landscapes.\n\nFor two years in a row Randy was se
 lected as one of Maine’s most noteworthy artists for the artmaine Annu
 al Guide. He has won over 190 awards for his paintings in watercolor thr
 oughout New England and the Southeast most recently winning the Red Ribb
 on Award in Watercolor\, Graphics\, and Drawings at the Vero Beach\, Flo
 rida 2021 Under the Oaks Arts Festival. His work is widely collected and
  included in numerous private and corporate collections.\n\nThe exhibit 
 is on view free of charge from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily from June 1
