DESCRIPTION:Richard Boyd Art Gallery is pleased to announce the opening 
 of the seventh solo exhibition of watercolor paintings by nationally ren
 owned Maine watercolorist Randy Eckard on June 1st at 10:00 a.m.\n\nRais
 ed in North Carolina\, Randy Eckard studied at the Ringling School of Ar
 t in Sarasota\, Florida and the Haywood School of Craft in Clyde\, North
  Carolina. A trained commercial and fine artist living in Blue Hill\, Ma
 ine Randy’s career as a fine artist working exclusively with watercolo
 rs spans more than three decades.\n\nRandy is known for his use of light
  and shadow\, with the subject of most of his paintings being light and 
 how it defines and shapes the scene before him. His realistic traditiona
 l style watercolor paintings depict the timeless beauty and charm of Mai
 ne’s architecture and landscapes.\n\nFor two years in a row Randy was 
 selected as one of Maine’s most noteworthy artists for the artmaine An
 nual Guide. He has won over 190 awards for his paintings in watercolor t
 hroughout New England and the Southeast most recently winning the Red Ri
 bbon Award in Watercolor\, Graphics\, and Drawings at the Vero Beach\, F
 lorida 2021 Under the Oaks Arts Festival. His work is widely collected a
 nd included in numerous private and corporate collections.\n\nThe exhibi
 t is on view free of charge from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily from June
