DESCRIPTION:Take a step back in time and have your tintype portrait made
  on-site by Cole Phillips!\n\nUsing materials and processes dating to th
 e 1850s\, wet-plate photography gives you the chance to experience and t
 ake home a memento of one of the oldest known photographic processes.\n\
 nTintypes date back to the 1850s and replaced then-industry-standard dag
 uerreotype photography as an alternative photographic process which crea
 ted more stable and easily visible results. Throughout the late-middle 1
 9th century\, tintypes were used to document everything from the America
 n Civil War\, and political figures of the time\, all the way down to wo
 rking-class families and domestic pets. By the 1900s\, the process had b
 een all but replaced by the rapidly growing alternative processes of the
  time and had become a novelty. Today\, it is preserved and practiced by
  those who are unwilling to see it fade into time.\n\nBundle up\, becaus
 e tintypes require natural light and the photographs will be taken outdo
 ors! In the case of inclement weather\, Polaroid portraits will be taken
  indoors.\n\nPayment will be made directly to the artist. Pricing: 4" x 
 5" portrait ($40)\; 5" x 7" portrait ($70)\; 8" x 10" portrait ($150).\n
 \nThis photography event is in celebration of Puppetkabob's The Snowflak
 e Man\, an antique truck show featuring Czech-style marionettes. The mat
 inée performance of "The Snowflake Man" will take place at 2:00 PM\, im
 mediately following the Tintype pop-up.
