 t band is the Westbrook High School Jazz Ensemble\, under the direction 
 of Kyle Smith.\n\nSmith has brought this fine band to OLS in the past an
 d the PJO is eager to have them back once again. Come and hear the futur
 e of Jazz in Maine!\n\nPerforming regularly at One Longfellow Square sin
 ce 2006\, the Portland Jazz Orchestra is Maine’s premier concert jazz 
 ensemble. Under the direction of Dr. Chris Oberholtzer\, this 19-piece j
 azz ensemble performs a variety of instrumental and vocal big band liter
 ature. PJO enjoys playing works written by members and area musicians su
 ch as Craig Skeffington\, Mike Sakash\, Brad Ciechomski\, Jake Sturteven
 t\, and Terry White. In addition to performing original literature\, PJO
  often performs music from the libraries of Duke Ellington\, Count Basie
 \, Stan Kenton\, Bill Holman\, Patrick Williams\, Woody Herman and Maria
  Schneider\, to name a few.\n\nPJO is made up of professional musicians\
 , many of whom are both performers and educators in New England. Members
  of the PJO have performed\, recorded and toured with numerous artists i
 ncluding: Natalie Cole\, Tony Bennett\, Wayne Bergeron\, The New York Vo
 ices\, Barry Manilow\, Roberta Flack\, the Temptations\, the Artie Shaw 
 Orchestra\, the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra and the Glenn Mil
 ler Orchestra.\n\nIn keeping with our educational background\, the Portl
 and Jazz Orchestra is available for educational clinics and performances
  throughout northern New England.
