 ign.\n\nPerforming regularly at One Longfellow Square since 2006\, the P
 ortland Jazz Orchestra is Maine’s premier concert jazz ensemble. Under
  the direction of Dr. Chris Oberholtzer\, this 19-piece jazz ensemble pe
 rforms a variety of instrumental and vocal big band literature.\n\nPJO e
 njoys playing works written by members and area musicians such as Craig 
 Skeffington\, Mike Sakash\, Brad Ciechomski\, Jake Sturtevent\, and Terr
 y White. In addition to performing original literature\, PJO often perfo
 rms music from the libraries of Duke Ellington\, Count Basie\, Stan Kent
 on\, Bill Holman\, Patrick Williams\, Woody Herman and Maria Schneider\,
  to name a few.&nbsp\;\n\nPJO is made up of professional musicians\, man
 y of whom are both performers and educators in New England. Members of t
 he PJO have performed\, recorded and toured with numerous artists includ
 ing: Natalie Cole\, Tony Bennett\, Wayne Bergeron\, The New York Voices\
 , Barry Manilow\, Roberta Flack\, the Temptations\, the Artie Shaw Orche
 stra\, the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra and the Glenn Miller O
 rchestra.\n\nIn keeping with our educational background\, the Portland J
 azz Orchestra is available for educational clinics and performances thro
 ughout northern New England.\n\nCovid-19 Protocols:\n\nWe are very excit
 ed to be hosting live music shows again in our listening room. OLS is co
 mmitted to providing a safe environment for all who work\, listen\, or p
 erform live music in our venue. Because our venue is so small\, we will 
 require all staff\, volunteers\, performers\, and patrons to show proof 
 of full vaccination against COVID-19 when they attend OLS events AND to 
 wear masks indoors unless they are actively drinking\, eating\, or perfo
 rming.\n\nProof of vaccine must come directly from the health care provi
 der that performed the vaccination and can be a photo or physical copy o
 f the vaccination card or record with an accompanying photo ID. Full vac
 cination means that the date of the performance you are attending is:\n\
 n* at least 14 days after your second dose of an FDA or WHO authorized t
 wo dose COVID-19 vaccine\, or\n\n* at least 14 days after your single do
 se of an FDA or WHO authorized single dose COVID vaccine.\n\nWe hope we 
 can ease these restrictions once further progress has been made reducing
  transmission of the virus. Until then we greatly appreciate your patien
