DESCRIPTION:The Tate House Museum presents it’s annual beer event\, Co
 loniAle\, in collaboration with Mast Landing Brewing Company on Septembe
 r 25th. The event starts at 3PM with a multi-room\, 18th century beer fo
 cused tour of the Tate House presented by our docent experts. This is fo
 llowed by a 16 ounce pour of beer at Mast Landing Brewing Company in Wes
 tbrook at 4:30PM and a talk by Ben Lisle entitled “Ale For Invalids”
 : Brewing and Drinking Beer Under the Maine Law in Nineteenth Century Po
 rtland”.\n\nBen is an assistant professor of American Studies at Colby
  College. He is the author of Modern Coliseum: Stadiums and American Cul
 ture\, published by the University of Pennsylvania Press in 2017. His cu
 rrent research investigates the ways craft beer has reshaped urban lands
 capes since the 1980s. Lisle also manages the Maine Beer Project (https:
 //mainebeerproject.com/) and writes a bi-weekly beer column for the Port
 land Press Herald. He is on Twitter at @bdisle.\n\nTickets for the event
