DESCRIPTION:A free\, outdoor event on the Children’s Museum &amp\; The
 atre of Maine’s Gather Lawn on October 2\, 2021 from 9 am-4pm\, sponso
 red by Hood on the occasion of their 175th Anniversary. Activities will 
 include a community food drive\, ice cream sandwich giveaways\, and a wh
 ipped cream science education station. Feeding Maine Families Day raises
  awareness about families and children experiencing hunger in Maine\, hi
 ghlights initiatives to combat childhood hunger\, and promotes food scie
 nce education in a playful way. The food drive will benefit Wayside's Ki
 ds' Healthy Snacks program. We're hoping to fill the Wayside truck with 
 nonperishable healthy snacks like granola bars\, fruit leather\, juice b
 oxes\, and more!\n\nAll visitors to the Museum &amp\; Theatre\, customer
 s of other businesses on Thompson’s Point\, and residents of the Libby
 town Neighborhood are encouraged to participate in this free event. Plea
 se note\, visitors must still pay for parking if driving to Thompson’s
  Point.\n\nThis event is made possible in partnership with Hood\, Preble
  Street Resource Center\, The Locker Project\, and Westbrook Public Scho
 ol Food Services. Thompson’s Point businesses Rosemont Market\, Rwanda
  Bean Coffee\, Stroudwater Distillery\, and Color Me Mine will be genero
 usly providing coupons for all to donate to the community Food Drive.
