DESCRIPTION:The Children's Museum &amp\; Theatre of Maine (CMTM) is plea
 sed to announce the grand opening of a new outdoor exhibit titled "Ckuwa
 ponahkiyik Atkuhkakonol: Wabanaki Storytelling Through Art and Tradition
 s." This exhibit pays homage to the enduring traditions of the Wabanaki 
 people\, whose cultural legacy has thrived in the region now known as Ma
 ine for over 12\,000 years. CMTM collaborated closely with artists repre
 senting four Wabanaki tribal nations - Mi'kmaq\, Maliseet\, Passamaquodd
 y\, and Penobscot - united under the Wabanaki Confederacy to create an i
 mmersive experience for visitors.\n\nThe exhibit will officially debut o
 n Indigenous People's Day - Monday\, October 9\, 2023\, and will be open
  to visitors from 9 am to 4 pm. Festivities will include a performance b
 y The Burnurwurbskek Singers\, a powwow drum group from the Penobscot Na
 tion\, presenting traditional northeast woodland songs and contemporary 
 intertribal compositions on the Museum &amp\; Theatre’s front Gather L
 awn from 10 am to 11 am\, weather permitting. This event is included wit
 h admission to CMTM. Visitors are encouraged to make reservations at www
