DESCRIPTION:Bread &amp\; Puppet presents Our Domestic Resurrection Circu
 s and Pageant\, a brand new show in the tradition of the iconic Bread &a
 mp\; Puppet Circuses that began at Goddard College in Plainfield\, Vermo
 nt in 1970. As usual\, the show will draw on traditional circus tropes a
 nd familiar Bread and Puppet iconography to draw attention to the urgent
  issues of the day. Stilt dancers\, paper maché beasts of all sizes\, a
 nd a riotous brass band make a raucous\, colorful spectacle of protest a
 nd celebration.\n\nThe show\, says Schumann\, is “in response to our t
 otally unresurrected capitalist situation\, not only the hundreds of tho
 usands of unnecessarily sacrificed pandemic victims but our culture’s 
 unwillingness to recognize Mother Earth’s revolt against our civilizat
 ion. Since we earthlings do not live up to our earthling obligations\, w
 e need resurrection circuses to yell against our own stupidity.”\n\nAf
 ter the performance\, Bread &amp\; Puppet will serve its free sourdough 
 rye bread with aioli\, and Bread &amp\; Puppet’s “Cheap Art” – b
 ooks\, posters\, postcards\, pamphlets\, and banners from the Bread &amp
 \; Puppet Press – will be for sale.\n\n---\n\nSunday\, September 3 at 
 4:00 PM\, 75 minutes. The band starts playing at 3:40 PM.\n\nThis is a f
 ree outdoor performance at Fort Allen Park on Portland’s Eastern Prome
 nade (49 Eastern Promenade).\n\nPlease bring cash to donate to the artis
